Your editor will even remain available for questions and to review any revisions you make as a result of the edit.

What about guidelines for format and citations?

Your editor will ensure that your work conforms with the citation and referencing style format that your university, instructor, supervisor, department, or publisher requires. Particularly with theses, dissertations, and journal submissions, you may be required to adhere to form and style guidelines beyond your basic citation style. WordsRU editors are familiar with a large variety of citation styles and university requirements. If your university, department, professor, Chair/Mentor, or publisher has provided you with style guidelines or has otherwise informed you about presentation requirements, please pass this information on to us.

Your WordsRU editor will also check your in-text citations to make sure that they are included in the reference list or bibliography. Your editor will indicate where you need to insert additional citations and which of your citations and references are lacking required information.

Can you help me organize my chapters and paragraphs?

While WordsRU editors do not research, write, add to, or alter academic text, they do offer suggestions and provide advice on ways to improve the sequence and consistency of the paragraphs and chapters in your document. If you supply the details of your assignment, your editor will discuss with you the best possible way to meet those requirements.

Will using an editor get me in trouble?

No. In fact, many instructors prefer that their students use editors. WordsRU editors follow a strict code of ethics to ensure that our edits do not promote plagiarism. WordsRU editors do not research, write, add to, or alter academic text. If your WordsRU editor thinks an edit might change your intended meaning, he or she will provide a comment to draw your attention.

How quickly can you edit my paper?

The time required for an edit depends on the length and condition of the project, but we will make every effort to accommodate your deadline. WordsRU editors can usually return documents of 2000 words or less in 24 hours (upon receipt of payment); we also offer expedited service if you need an edit done more quickly.

Please remember that many academic documents benefit from consultation between the editor and the author. This is especially so for documents written by less-experienced students or by students and academics who have difficulty expressing themselves in writing (such as those for whom English is a second language). The consultation process can add great value to your project, but it also takes time. You should also allow yourself at least a day to review the edited paper and make any revisions.

How will you return my paper?

We return two copies of the paper: a marked copy with all corrections and comments showing, as well as a revised copy with the corrections accepted and comments removed. Note that the revised copy is NOT ready to submit to your professor/Chair/Advisor! You should review and address any comments or suggestions the editor has made before submitting. There may be information you need to add to the reference list entries, or text you need to clarify or elaborate on throughout the paper.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact your editor, who will be happy to discuss your paper and explain his or her comments and suggestions. In addition, the editor will review specific passages and edit a certain amount of new text, at your request.
